Default Getting a Title in Tennessee

Hey all you Tennessee folks out there, I just moved here from California and had a question.

I have a pickup that has no title, we checked the engine number back in California and it hasn't been used and is out of the system. We didn't have time to get a title for it there, and so now I'm curious how, if possible, can I go about getting a new title for this thing. I know nothing about how that works out here and figured I'd ask you guys before trying to dig somewhere else. Thanks in advance!

I'd first check to see if the local DMV has a website. Then check for content on antique vehicles.

There is no DMV in Tennessee. County Clerk handles titles. There is a 379 page guide here. http://www.tn.gov/revenue/vehicle/index.shtml

You just might pop in the CC's office and ask them. I never had to wait more than 5 minutes at my local CC.

We're locating to Pegram, TN if there's anyone around that area who'd like to make some new friends! Any info on local car shows, swap meets, cruise ins would be great too.

We aren't too far apart. I'm near Santa Fe. I like to visit Mike Wolf's store. He's more of a motorcycle guy though. http://www.antiquearchaeology.com/

You might enjoy the Loveless Café and their Americana music venue. Only a few miles from you at the entrance to the Natchez Trace. I like to ride the Trace.

I stopped in to visit their store in Iowa a week ago. It was less than I was expecting, but they did have some nice old motorcycles and a few other goodies. It's worth the visit if you are in the area, but don't drive a hundred miles out of your way.
