Hi
I am repairing the body of a 1930 Sport Coupe. I have the body removed, and sitting upside down for ease of repairs. I am replacing the both side subrails, floor pans, and fender quarter panels. I am reusing the cross channels. I have the drivers side clamped up the with new parts, but due to rust damage to original parts and no holes in the new parts, I cannot quite see how everything was fastened together. I have been searching the web for days looking for detailed drawings of exactly how the floor frame components were originally fastened together...just comments like...clamp and fasten...no details as to exactly where the original fasteners (rivets) were located. For example, the middle cross member keys into a cut slot of the side rail, and I can see a couple of the old rivet locations (from the other side, not as badly damaged, and not disassembled yet). It appears that the cross member used to have a tab which was then riveted to the sub rail, and through the fender inner panel (quarter panel). I can see the heads of two rivets on some old pictures, but I have not seen any information as to how exactly these parts originally fit together. Ideally, I'd love to have detailed drawings that show exactly how the body frame was put together, with exact component locations and rivet hole locations. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for any help! Ethan Brand Roscommon, MI |
