Question on front fenders 30/31

I have a 31 tudor in need of fenders. I noticed that some of the 1930 cars used the shorter splash apron and then the nose section that bolted to the front fender and front end of splash apron.

My question is, if I bought used 1930 fenders that used that shorter style splash apron can I just ditch the shorter splash apron and use my full length aprons instead?
