Try Bernies Auto Electric Inc 621 Main St, East Hartford, CT 06108 • (860) 528-4177.
They've helped me out in the past. Don't know if the do conversions. |

Ive seen a couple of generators rewired for 12 volts on E pay. I'm thinkin of doin the same thing. Dont know too much about the reliabilty of these powermaster generator/alternator that speedway motors sells, but they are expensive.

I see you're in Merdith, that's where I'm fishing! Usually all I catch is a cold.

Bernies has done several rebuilds for me and has tested some at no charge.

Welcome to U. I was speaking with a person the other day wondering why every one is in a little cluster just in Meredith bay. Paugus bay and Center Harbor as well as Alton used to full of my houses, I mean (Bob houses) Think maybe folks are not so crazy about the sport these days ?? Wish ya luck and stay warm.

This will be my 3rd year. The first year we had -40 winds, then last year I was on the ice during the blizzard. Not for the faint of heart!

If anyone is interested, I took my generator to Bernies Auto Electric. They converted the fields and the armature to 12V and painted the generator for $101 out the door. I dropped it off Monday afternoon and it was done by Tuesday morning.
Would have cost me $65 plus shipping just to get the field coils online, and I still wouldn't be charging the full 12V. Time is money, money is time. |
