Default Wheels

I have a set of wheels supposedly from a 1953 Ford. They have riveted centers to rim. Will these rims be compatible with tubeless tires or will only welded wheels work?
Thanks,
Ben

Should be fine. I used a set of 51 Merc wheels like you describe. We added silicone around the rivet heads just as a precaution.

My '51 Ford wheels work fine with tubeless. However, my '55 Ford wheels are 1/2" wider than the '51. You may want to check this.

1951 Mercury Wheels have a different Bolt Pattern to the Fords. Fords started their Bolt Pattern back in 1949, but the Mercury continued on with the old Ford Bolt Pattern through to at least 1951. We don't see many of these cars in Australia.
