Default What I Learned on FB this Year

As I approach the 1-year anniversary as a Model "A" owner, I want to say "THANKS" to Ford Barn and all the knowledgeable members who take time to share information.

During this past year I have driven "Henrietta" about 2,000 miles, participated in 3 parades, 2 car shows and at least one "Show-And-Tell". There's no MAFCA chapter in my community, and very few Model "A" owners, so I rely on Ford Barn as much as I do the reference books I've collected.

This year, with guidance from FB members, I rebuilt my distributor and Zenith Carb. I've learned how to time the car so she's purrin' like a kitty; maintain the cooling system and winterize; what, when and how to lube; why I need shocks and how to install original-style links; how to pronounce "Houdaille"; how to test a coil and capacitor; how to un-stick a starter because I screwed up and advanced the spark when starting; and a systematic procedure for trouble-shooting. Oh, yeah, and "TAP-TAP-TAP". I also learned I'm supposed to get a free package of "Depends" upon my 100th post.... still waiting by the mailbox for that.

Henrietta has become sort of a local fave in my community, and brings smiles and waves as we "potata-potata-potata" and "AHOOOOgah" thru town.

Thanks to all... you've become part of her story and have made my world a little bigger. I'm looking forward to learning more in 2014!

Best wishes for a great New Year!
