I'd like to lift the body off the frame of my '29 woody. (an original 150A)

The chassis needs attention, and would be more easily repaired w/o the body on it. the body is solid, and I thought it could be lifted in one piece, from firewall to tailgate, after removing the shifter and steering column to minimize the lift.

Would any readers have any suggestions, advice, or warnings concerning this plan?

Have more than enough people there to help. Probably 6-8 people since it's such a large body. Have a cart or something pre built so you can put your body on it. It makes it real nice it it's a cart on some big caster wheels. Slide some thick steel tubing under the front by the cowl, middle, and back of the body. This will allow your helpers to lift it easier. Lift up and have 1 or 2 extra people there to help guide the body onto the new cart you have made for it. I've made carts out of 2x4's doubling up on the ends, and with cross bracing they've proven to be pretty strong.

When you put the body back on you'll probably have to realign the doors. Unless you're going to get competitive, ( show car) and if everything lines up now I would work on the chassis with the body on.

I wouldn't do this with a woody unless absolutely necessary. Too easy to rack that wooden body.

Thanks for the info concerning the removal of the woody body.
I will pick it up off the frame and roll out from beneath it. (the body will need to be aligned on reinstallation, due to frame sag and other chassis issues).
First task is to build a dolly to stow the body.
