Default Upholestery questions

Any body ever do upholestery from scratch? I'm trying to get some sizes to cut my "Panels?". how much overhang do we give them, It's a "Measure twice, Cut once, any other tips or suggestions. This is a vinyl for the rumble seat in the coupe. Thanks in advance! Terry

Terry, my only suggested idea is to make it out of cheap cloth first for a pattern, cut extra material you can cut it off at the bottom of the wood if there is wood to tack to! Good luck with your project . Somethingspecial.
