Default Cracked Mallory Condenser Case

I have a Mallory distributor on my Model A. The case is cracked in several places from the top to the bottom. The car has run very good for several years with the Mallory Distributor and the cracked case even in summer's heat of >95F here in Virginia. Is this normal with some of the Mallory condensers? Will the condenser fail due to the cracked case? Will moving the condenser to the firewall off the direct heat of the engine prolong its serviceable life? Thanks for your info and advice.

I left out the word condenser in several places in my post. I am talking about a cracked condenser case, not a cracked distributor. Sorry for the elementary mistake.

I have seen them cracked before and still working, but I would at least seal it with some clear coating. Gary
