I believe my 16" wheels are 6" wide.
They currently have 185S16 Pirelli radials on them that I purchased many many years ago. That's why I can't accurately measure how wide the wheels are since I don't have calipers. I believe the wheels are the original wheels. I guess I have 2 questions. Does 6" sound right? What size radial is recommended? Thank you very much. |

My old chassis parts book lists the 19A-1015 wheel for the 41 Merc as 16 X 5 inches. It doesn't list a 6 inch wide wheel but Lincolns & pickups may have had them in that time frame or a little later after the war. The Ford cars has the 16 X 4 inchers.

My '40 Ford has 16 x 5 wheels, and 225/75R16 radials.

Is 225/75R16 the way to go. What are others using? Thanks. |
