I need a set of wide-five front brake drums for my 1936 Fordor. I know they used this wheel/drum combination for a few years but are there any differences between them? I thought I heard the spindles from '37 and up were different and therefore the drums would not fit a '36. Is this true? What should I look for when it comes to drums?
Thanks! - Craig |

OK..........First, I'm no expert on this. What I've found........all the rears will interchange from '36 - '39. Fronts, is another animal. '36 are unique. Has to due with spindle length. If you look inside the drum there is sort of a turbine-like casting reinforcement on the '36's.
Also there is one piece and two piece drums with no method of years/madness that I've found. Lugnuts are swaged in the two piece not just pressed in holding them together. Makes it difficult to swap. |
