For those interested.....I bought a can of the Bob Drake Dash Paint. It's damn close to the original ! It's more of a Burgundy Brown, but after a good base primer and two coats of his paint....it really looks good ! It will never be as original as it's 73 years old, but I have to say they got it pretty close.

Rustoleum Kona Brown is close too. Probably not as close as Drakes/Sacramento Vintages offering, I don't think its points close but its close with a dark primer as a base and at 3.99 a can its good enough for a driver in my opinion.

I used that color on the moldings and steering column, etc.

My old interior color is original and doesn't quite show the amount of red as the kona but maybe this is due to aging and oxidation over the years. Terry |
