The brightness is not even close. The sealed beam was more like a modern car but i hated that "frog eye" look you get with them.

Did you use original reflectors or reproduction? If original have they been resilvered?
Some of the reproduction ones are the wrong shape, see the link to Marcos's site http://www.abarnyard.com/workshop/lamp_focus-2.htm Bob |

Mine has sealed beams (was on it when I bought it), I also did not like the "bug eye" look, so I purchased the behind the glass mounts from Synders (they are about 1/2 the price of others for these) and put original fluted glass lens in. Now it looks right, if you look close you can see the sealed beams behind the fluted lens, but that is ok with me, I have very good lights and did not have to buy all the parts that had been taken out of mine.

If it's an original 1928 type bulb with just driving and parking filaments then you'll have dim on parking. I found a couple of these bulbs at our swap meet on Sunday. |
