Default Front shock arms

I recieved my rebuilt shocks the other day, and began the process of installtion. Started with the rear. according to less andrews the rear shock link is to lean back when the car is on the ground. Mine does! but I can not find any reference to the position parallel to the tire. Both rear sides lean in to the tire at the top.

Now as for the front. had a hard time connecting the drivers side link to the arm. link is way out of plumb, leaning top to the tire. Pass side unable to make the connection.

Arms and links are new from Snyders. According to their catalog the arm and links fit 28 thru 31. Is there a difference in years and can anyone give me the offset demension for the front are on a mid 1930 coupe.

thanks

Bob,

Do you have a copy of the MARC/MAFCA Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards?

Lots of great information in it if you are new to the Model A/AA Ford hobby.

Yes, there were about 4-5 different types of shock arms, shock links and about 30 plus varities of shock absorbers (but not all are in the standards)!

the spring perch and shock arm balls should in plump with each other from side to side they can lean back and forth. a lot of times the original arms are bent and you can heat them up and bend them where you need them, but you said they are new I don`t know if you can bend them without breaking them. measure from your braking plate to the frame to make sure your front end is in the right place.
