Do halogen 6V tail light bulbs burn too hot for a '49-50 SW tail light and do they draw too much power causing other problems. I would like to increase the brightness of stop, blinkers, and running lights. I painted the inside gloss white but no real help.

Look for some 6 volt LED's. You'll be a lot happier. They don't get hot and are brighter.

I have two halogen bulbs I would like to sell. The wiring would not handle them!

I tried halogen, I tried LED, and neither compared to the super brights from Sacramento Vintage Ford here: http://www.vintageford.com/part_sear...3-6sb&Category
Their bulbs do not draw the current halogens do and they shine all directions unlike the LEDs. They look and fit just like the original bulbs but are just a whole lot brighter. And they're cheap compared to either of the others. I'll never use anything else. See photos to demonstrate the differences between all bulbs in my 47 here: https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=67558

A 6 volt Alternator supplies more than enough to keep all new lights very bright, and No fluctuation that is sometimes found with other devices

When I put in halogens with stock wiring they worked but the brake lights lit slowly and not much brighter than the tail lights. I then installed 9 ga. wire and they worked fine but quickly burned out my brake light switch. I then added a relay but the bulbs soon died. That's when I tried LEDs that were too directional and didn't even light up my whole lens and was looking for something else when I was put onto the super brights from Sacramento Vintage Ford that have worked great - bright as halogens but a lot cheaper, last longer, and don't draw as much juice.
