Pinion gear removal

I'm removing a ring and pinion gear for a fellow ford barner and I'm wondering how you remove the pinion gear from the drive shaft. I've removed the cotter pin and crown nut off the end of the drive shaft. I've removed the two large nuts from the inside of the pinion gear/ drive shaft. Is it free at this point or am I missing something? I don't want to do any damage to this because its being used again. Thanks in advance
