Default Cold weather driving

If you drive your A in the cold months, ensure you give it a good run to get it hot enough to evaporate the condensation in the crankcase. I drove the other day in 27 degree weather for 10 miles or so. After pullin' in the garage I took a look inside the breather cap, and it had a thin coating of the yellowish froth inside, the radiator temp w/ir gun was 155 degress at the top tank. I covered the top 1/4 of the radiator with cardboard and drove for another 5 miles and got the temp up to 176. Checked the breather and it had a thin coating of oil, no condensation and none in the oil. 160 thermostat FYI. I made sure to give it a good run next time out with good results. Good luck merry christmas

Those people that go to the garage and start their car for 5 minutes once a week / month are doing more harm than good! Wayne

If it were me, every couple of weeks, I'd stick an 8Ft piece of pipe on the tail pipe, Rev it to 1200 Rpm, with the hand throttle & wait until EVERYTHING got TOASTY warm!
Same answer for that OTHER Thread.
