A few of us got together from our Model A Club to test jets on a flow tool one of the members had. Every jet we tried was 1/2 of the flow it should be. Does anyone have a good article on making, setting up and using the "Jet Flow Tool"

The attached article has a dissertation on flow checking the jets.

Does it matter what the inner diameter of the 36" long tubing is? nobody seems to say what they've used. They just show a picture of the finished product.

The pressure at the bottom of the column doesn’t change with diameter. 3/4 pvc is easy to work with.
I am amazed at how much jets can varry from under to over flow values. 1/4” Surgical tubing works well to insert the jets into at the bottom of your apparatus. I use a 100ml graduated cylinder to measure with. A micro torch and paste flux to solder the tips is my preferred method. Of the various techniques shown in the articles I read I use a hand held micro drill holder. Planning on making a block to thread the jets into to hold them in a vice.....start undersized Dremel tools work well to chamfer the new orfice turning slow w/a cordless drill.

Wow,Thanks Folks. There's alot of good info. So we go back to the drawing board. The only thing that's different with our tool is the top of the tube has a elbow on it that hooks up to the run off tube. Maybe this is effecting the pressure?
