We have just finished the mechanical work on a 1930 standard 4Dr. All the body work, interior, and top were done by a body shop, and then given to us to finish the lighting, ect. When we drove the car, I can actually see the inside headliner moving as the wind passes the car.

My 31 Town Sedan's top never moved like that. Did the body shop forget something in the assembly of the top??

If it's properly nailed to the bows, you might have to tighten it up by steaming it.

Do you mean using some type of steam tool to stretch the top tight?? Is it normal for the air to pass through like that??

I would think not. There may be a "gap" under the visor where the header sits.

Elizabeth from Classtique Upholstery mentioned using steam to snug up some wrinkles after installing the top. I thought maybe the top was moving from air movement with the winshield open or windows down, but if it's closed up tight, then it must be as Paul said.
