Default Seat Springs

Does anyone how many "seat spring" manufactures there are? is there more than one? Prices seem to vary quite a bit from one re-seller to another for '28 Phaeton seat springs. Are some better quality?

Call Steve at Bert's. He will know and whatever he sells will be the best available.

I have the feeling that Snyders is the main spring builder for a number of antique cars of all brands.

Be aware that Snyders will also sell individual springs. If you have an original seat you can give the spring wire gauge and length and they will sell you the springs are a reasonable price.

Ummmm, not sure that is correct. The rear cushions are a little different on most cars and are in the $225 range. The back rests are the same and should be in the $180 range. The front cushion should be about the same $$ so that should put your total in at under $800.00. I don't deal with Macs so I cannot help you there but you need to call and verify the pricing. It won't hurt to ask them who is making them.

I just looked on Macs website and they are selling the back rests for $183 each and the front seat cushion for $179.95. Those 3 springs alone total up over the price you have quoted above. I also looked at Mike's Affordable and their prices listed are the same as Snyders.

Either he has a source (manufacturer) I'm not familiar with, or he's trying to clear some shelf space at a pretty good loss.

There is a wholesale outfit Carline Inc of Beaumont,TX that makes springs for many retailers. He drops ships for many of them.

Does Snyders make a seat bottom and or seat with shorter springs that will provide a little more room for us larger guys?
