Default Spring covers

Has anyone installed spring covers on a fully assembled car ? While the rears look fairly simple the fronts are proving to be difficult. And one thing Im not sure of is which way do the metal straps point, down or toward centre of car ? I have removed the pan in front and below rad so front spings are more accessible

Jack, I just installed them in November. The indentations fit around the spring clamp/bolts. Apply grease liberally to the inside of each cover. Lay the covers with the wider end of the cover beneath the radiator & the narrower end below the shock link near the spindle bolt. The rivet is on top of the spring and the open seam is on bottom of the spring so any water can run out. Place it over the top of the spring seam down, then pull the "Tang" through the oval ring and bend it snugly to tighten a good fit. Then suffer for two days from the joint pain in your thumb. Ron
