S/W front doors have a funny-looking stamped filler piece that attaches to the front edge of the window opening, under the molding. Does any S/W owner know what sort of hardware holds them in place? They appear to need four #8 screws, but I am not sure what length or style. Mine had been removed and replaced by a previous owner, and they used random modern screws.
Thanks, Doug

Doug, I just went down to the barn and looked at the Briggs 160 B that is in pieces and it has 8/32 D nuts in the door frame. The 2 screws facing forward are 1 inch flat head, and the screws facing out are missing, but looks like a 3/8 long flat head would work. Ed S.

Thanks for the information! Mine had been held in by round-headed screws.

this piece? secure with wood screws of your choice, I suggest if you have not already filled the holes in the wood, do it now. the screws are hidden by the garnish molding.

Thanks for all the additional information! BTW, I discovered my thin rubber washers stuck on the inner surfaces of the moldings.
