Question 300 6cyl roker arm

I have a 300 6cyl out of an 84 ford van that looks like two of the posts that the rocker arms pivot on are working there way out of the head. The engine run with a very consistant miss. The rocker arms were so loose I can't believe something didn't get damaged. How can I force the studs (or whatever they are) back into the head. What is the fix for this?

you can drive them back in but i doubt if they will stay.you need to tap the hole and get a screw in rocker stud.

This is a problem on small block chevy engines sometimes too. I had that problem on a Corvette engine and I took the heads to a machine shop and had pins drilled through the boss and the stud to pin them in solid.I doubt you could do that with the head installed.Darrell's idea is probably the best way if you can find out what screw in stud will work on your application.
