Default Why did they do this? (1932 Transmission)

What in the world would this fitting have been for??

It was clearly put in after the serial number was punched. Remove and plug it.

Some of those have a flex hose from that fitting to the throw out bearing to grease. Walt

I was planning on it, just thought is was an odd fitting.

Likely it was put there to avoid the hassle of removing the front floor mat to access the grease cup on the transmission bell housing. The fitting in your photo would permit under-the-hood access.
