I purchased a new speedometer cable from Bratton's and it comes with part A-17260-A and states on the package: NOTE: Some early transmission drive gears with deep hole will required this spacer be dropped in first.
No diagrams, no other instructions. How do I tell if I need this part? Dropped in where? Thanks |

If you do not have an early car, you should not have to worry about it unless it was changed how somehow but usually they don't use rare parts.
