That is the same original drag link that was in the '40 coupe. The replacements ones, both Ford and aftermarket do not look the same, because they made the spindle end more easily adjustable with a sleeve threaded on to the link for the tie rod end. Fred Wilner has the replacement ones.

Thanks JSeery.

I am asking because I have a 39 pickup that the drag link has been welded on pretty good. I don't really trust it. I actually think it was made out of another rod.
A local guy has this drag link and I want to know if this is correct for my pickup. He said it came in some '39 stuff he bought.

As I wrote above the drag link is the original Ford production link used first in 1937 and continued through 1940. It does have the Ford part number 78-3306.
