Default 40 Heater:

I put a 40 heater in my car today.Motor runs in all speeds and forward and backwards works. In high speed the motor has some vibration and makes a fluttering sound.I put a drop of oil or two on the rear end of shaft before I installed it.I noticed the the fan and shaft has some play in and out.Is the motor worn or could it be something else?I don't have the water hooked up yet, just trying to give it a test run.Any ideas on what to do? Thanks,Russell

the motor armature shaft should have some movement in and out, check out the fan and see if any of the bladed are bent using low speed, this could cause vibration at higher speeds.

I agree with terry if you bend one or two of the blades it may counterbalance the vibration....gump
