is there a difference in a 36 Roadster seat and a 36 Cabriolet seat?

I think the roadster front seat was leather, but the cabriolet front seat could be leather or was offered in cloth also. .

Re: 36 open car seat
The Roadster seat had only about a 2" adjustment by removing the seat and placing it on another set of holes in the floor. The Cabrilolet, like the Coupe and Sedan had and manual lever in the front of the seat to be able to move the seat. Page 45 of the 1935-36 Ford Book by The Early Ford V-8 Club.

Re: 36 open car seat
Brendan, The Roadster seat back was much taller than the other open Fords and offering the occupants a bit more wind protection around the shoulders.

Re: 36 open car seat
Brendan, the seat back cushion in the roadster definitely looks way too tall, but that is the way they came. Does the bottom cushion fit the seat frame? A few years ago you could buy a shorter backrest for the 36 roadster. I think I may have bought the last one that Sac Vintage had in stock. I shortened the backrest frame to fit the spring and then had the cover modified to fit.

Re: 36 open car seat
All they need to do is call Lebonney Baron and they could probably identify the problem, they have been around a long long time.
