Default '31 radiator shell lacing

I see three different widths of radiator shell lacing being sold, 1/2,5/8 and 3/4". Does someone have a '31 radiator shell with the original lacing, if so how wide is the lacing? Thanks

My original 31 shell still has reminants which break off when bent.
It measures 9/16 - 5/8 in some spots.
Now, did it get squished wider by the hood rubbing?.....or has it shrunk with age?
My guess is 5/8 being correct.
I can put up some pics later on if need be.
