Hello everyone. I wanted to give everyone an update on next years national tour. As of Sunday morning, the event website is now active. Please be sure to check it out at www.mafcablueridgetour.com It's a work in progress but it will give you a pretty good idea of what to expect on the tour. We are expecting around 200 cars. We have great food and hotels set aside for the event and plenty of trailer parking reserved. Once we get a little closer, the registration form will also be available on the site (aiming for may or June.) lastly, if any of you would be interested in advertising in the event book, please let me know. Cost will be $25 for a quarter page, $50 for half, and $100 for a whole page ad. Hope to see you all there. If you have any other questions, let me know.

Looks great. We were unable to join the Natches Trace tour because of time constraints, and hope not to let that happen again. Here is a thought that may help some. Could arrangments be made to get trailers and tow vehicles to the end of the tour? Looking forward to this tour!

Living in Asheville, NC the Blue Ridge Parkway is the best Model A road in the world in my opinion. I drive on it at least once a week all year round. I was really surprised that MAFCA had to go all the way to Texas to find a host club however. I am sure that the Dallas club will do a great job. Note that commercial vehicles are not allowed on the parkway.

I am glad to hear there will be trailer parking available.
If we leave a trailer at the starting end, what is the plan to reunite with it at the Gatlinburg end? Drive the "A" back up there?

If you trailered to the starting point, yes you would have to drive back up afterwards but there are several more direct routes you can drive back up on that shave about 100 miles off the drive. No reason to drive back up the blue ridge at 40mph. As for registration, we hope to open it up middle of next month.

Jim/TX has a concern like me. I don't mind the drive back, but I'm a working stiff and have limited vacation time. Here is what I'm thinking, Jim; Drop your "A" in Charlottesville, rent an econo-box at your choice of car rental agencys. Put it in your car trailer and run it down to Gatlinburg. Leave the tow rig there and drive back the rental. Doesn't seem like such a bad idea, eh?

Jim/Tx Why even bother with a trailer. I am planning on driving my car all the way from North Houston! I am looking for others in this area that are planning on the same thing.

I also work etc. What I'm doing is dropping trailer at the end, then driving the A up to starting point. Then I'll come down the blue ridge with the tour. Then once it's done Friday night, I have the trailer right there and I've got all of Saturday and Sunday to get back to Texas.

If you leave the trailer at the start or finish then you will have to drive an extra 470 plus miles. If you leave the A at the start and take the trailer to the finish, rent a car to get back to the start, then you will have to drive an extra 940 plus miles. Just something to think about.
