Default Interesting grille guard on ‘48 F-1

Found by accident in the interweb. Supposedly factory.
Undoubtedly someone has seen this item before….

Yes, rare factory grill guard. These seem to have been not popular when new. Aftermarket or home made grill guards are more common.

I think Chuck of Chucks Trucks fame has those guards on both of his MHs; an F1 and Ranger. If not authentic, he wouldn’t have them.

I have a picture of those accessory front guards in my 1949 Ford "Fast Moving Parts" catalogue. Never seen one in real life.

I have one of these grill guards. It is new NOS and I have saved it for 30 years to use on my own truck but am now ready to turn it loose for someone else to enjoy. Send a private message to me.

In the late 80's I had both the grille guard and the fog lights NOS. 8C prefix on the fog lights as I recall. Sold both for fairly minimal money as I didn't have a truck.
