Hopefully someone here can help...I am looking for a recommendation of a chrome plater to do the windshield of my 68C slant windshield Cabriolet. My original is still intact, but starting to look a bit tired with rust bubbles beginning. I can obtain a steel reproduction windshield from Snyders, but it does not come chrome plated.
From what I understand, plating of the 68C windshield is a bit problematic as there are areas in the bottom corners that capture acid washes and where rust starts...special attention needs to be paid during plating to fully buffer these hidden areas and make certain plenty of copper plating is applied to the hidden areas for a long lasting job. If anyone has a positive experience with a plater that you could recommend I would certainly appreciate the lead. Best Regards, Cliff Ward [email protected] (919) 616-6759
