It was the first thing I thought of, but unfortunately the last thing I tried. Some wear in the socket in the frame X member where the front wish bone ball attaches. I put a ball joint repair kit, really just a spacer in there, snugged it up good and Voila' no more knocking rattle. Also Ihave my speedometer back in and it is doing great. No more "whomp whomp". Now on to other smaller or less worrisome squeeks and rattles with the 35 PU.

I thought pickups were supposed to rattle and squeek. That's what makes them fun

I thought it was Convertibles that rattled and squeaked... At least all of ours do.

Rattle and squeak they do but both of yours are very nice rides. I think Lawson's and my pickups have you beat in the rattle and squeak race though.
