"Blatz is the name you will always cheer"

"Blatz is Milwaukee's finest beer"

I listened to that tune many times and still sing it myself occasionally

I bought the complete set of the early fifties "Amos & Andy" TV shows on CD a few years ago. They included the Blatz commercials, which I thought was a good touch. I remember seeing them as a kid. I now realize that I had no idea of how good they were back then. They were funny, insightful and sometimes touching. Amos's explanation of "The Lord's Prayer" to his Daughter Arabella was a high point for me.

A good friend gave me two cans of Blatz last night - I'll have to open one up this evening and cheer this post! LOL

Found a picture of the Philbrick Garage from 1930 in the Wisconsin Historical Society archives. Shows a few loads of Firestone tires being delivered. The building at 207 3rd Ave is still there, but no beer trucks or old Fords in sight.

If a picture is worth 1,000 words, then a video is worth 1,001 of them.

Blatz created the "Ear Worm" with their singing jingle...

Milwaukee radio circa 1950s early 1960s

I'm from Milwaukee and I ought to know:
It's draft brewed Blatz beer, wherever you go.
Smoother and fresher, less filling that's clear,
Blatz is Milwaukee's finest beer.

Kegs, Cans, Bottles Version with Variants

Kegs, cans or bottles,
The taste is the same,
Blatz is Milwaukee's finest name.
Kegs, Cans, or Bottles,
All taste the same.
The three best is one beer
Blatz is the name

Louisville Kentucky 1949-1954 Courtesy Ern Reynolds

I'm from Milwaukee and I ought to know
It's the Blatz beer story wherever you go!
Blatz is the name you will always hear
Blatz is Milwaukee's finest beer!
