Default New Exhaust Manfold and Gaskets

I recently order a new exhaust manifold from Snyders and a variety of manifold gaskets from Snyders and Mac's. The manifold was the one with the ceramic coating, it was $149 plus shipping. I have to say what a wonderful piece of work the manifold is, clean, well made and it fit perfectly. If you're tired of looking at your old pitted manifold I recommend ordering one, you won't be disappointed.

The manifold gaskets however are a different story, the first set was the cheaper composite two piece gaskets, the second set was the 1931 copper gaskets (2) with a composite center, the third set was the one piece gasket with the dimpled steel exterior on the manifold side and the forth set was the copy of the "original" copper over composite 2 gasket set. The first three are not made correctly; the first and third gaskets don't have the holes for the outer exhaust ports in the right location (off by at least 1/16 inch) and make fitting the exhaust "rings" nearly impossible. The second set for late 1931, which don't use the exhaust rings, don't fit right and if you can get these to fit in the exhaust ports you are a better person than me. The fourth set, which are said to be copies of the originals and the most expensive, fit and functioned very well. Please save yourself time, money and frustration and pass on the cheaper gaskets and use the copy of the originals. They're worth the extra money.
