I just got a pair of Bob Drake early v8 hinges today for my 41. I'm very impressed. They look identical and the metal is the same thickness. I ordered the new set before I tightened up the originals by whacking the hinge points. Only difference is the spring attachment point. My original 41s have the spring attached to a pin. Bob's has the 46-48 design I believe attached to the arm directly.

I put Bob Drake's hinges on my '39 about 10 years ago and they were a perfect fit...actually my originals had seen better days. I also opted for the stainless ones before I morphed into more of an original restorer with subsequent cars!!
