Doesn't make a difference if gav closed or open . I adjusted it to 3/4 turn out
only because it should be out some. Car starts and runs well as it is. Fred |

The positioning of the GAV has all to do with the sizing of the comp jet. If the comp jet is as large or larger than the cap jet the GAV has no affect. This is why it is important to have all four jets flow tested and re-sized to the correct values.

Adjusted as model a org. Tell how to. Idle smooth and slow yet ide
mixture screw makes really no difference in or out. I have all renners jetting kit ,installed Last year. Plugs run very clean. Maybe I should not worry engine starts and runs perfect otherwise ?? Fred |

with gav all the way in my car takes a moment longer to warm before I can drive away. 30 seconds or so. I'm very impatient. It also will back fire slightly in 2nd gear on up hills. my carb has not been flow tested so I dont know if mine is working properly. But it seems its not very noticeable at idle.

Your title says "idle air adjustment" but your first sentence says "GAV". Not sure if you have trouble with both, or just which one? |

my uncles 28 that sat for 2 years with crap gas has a B carb and after cleaning pluged jets with carb cleaner and air and getting it running pretty good the air adjustment did very little. than I soaked carb bowl in a real old can of dirty carb cleaner and used safty wire to rod out the passages now the air adjustment does something and it runs like it should! I stupidly sprayed myself in the eye with the new carb cleaner I didint even wash it out! the old stuff and I would have been in trouble!
