Default l-100 camshaft

Who are the people now selling the L-100 cam. Are they doing re-grinds or new

Nobody now, but I'd like to start the rumor that Pete bought the masters and specs and is going to grind them soon.

The master was sold when Dave retired but I can not remember who.

AS far as I know, Dave still has the master. It didn't go with the machinery.

Pete has mentioned in previous posts that he has a grind very similar (maybe identical) to the the L100. Send him a pm and ask him about this if he does not respond here.

I had a L100 grind done by Cam Techniques down in Sarasota, FL.
That was two years ago now.

The L-100 was a dual pattern cam, having a shorter duration on the exhaust to improve l0w end torque. One reason it ran so well on the street.

Today I was talking to an old time stock car guy in Central Falls, RI, right down the street from Litterio Bros. shop. As a kid, he used to go with his father to pickup cams, and he got to carry them. He showed me the specs and price list for "L-100 Super", $46.00. But, I am still not clear on whether someone ended up with the masters, and is regrinding them. Anyone know. I believe Dave said he took the original masters he bought from Litterio, and made his own masters for his cam machine from them. Sure would like to find out is someone is grinding them. I also understand that an old time familiar name company, Rotofaze produces the cam blanks for company's like Isky. Anyone know where they are located. I would like to start with a new blank.

Curious on why you'd like to start with a new billet v. a reground stock cam?

That said, in my travels I was lucky to find two NOS hi-po cams that were ground on new billets. The cams are a Crane 353-2 and a Mellings A-100.

A older roundy-round guy from NY State said the Crane was popular with some of the guys that ran at the tracks he race at.

Is the L100 or a similar grind going to work in a stock displacement engine?

We are talking STEEL billets here.
Most of the advertised Crane billets were CAST iron.
Steel is not normally needed except for special applications such as extreme lift or roller profiles.
