Default Replace Rear wheel bearing grease seal

How big a job is this? Any special tools needed? If so, what are they. I've had the rear drums off doing brake work so I've been that far.
Thanks.

Pull the rear end out of the car, take it apart and replace the seals. Yes they go in from the back side.

Take the snap ring out then ether pry or drop the hub/brake drum with a little force squarely on a piece of 2 x12. The shock of hitting the board will force the bearing against the seal and knock it out but only after taking the snap ring out.

When you install the new seal be sure to drive it in only enough to get the snap ring in place. You don't want it to be tight against the bearing.

I'm sure you'll be cleaning and repacking the bearing while the seal is out. Once packed it should be good for 10 years or 10,000 miles at least.
