Default Square nut vs Hex nut...which one is it?

Guys and gals...need some help here please...

On the firewall side of the 28-29 Model A/AA's, there is a row of eight bolts, nuts and lockwashers.

We (Mark and myself) are trying to determine if in fact if "hex" nuts were used at any time within the 28-29 production year.

I know that the 28-29 Parts Price Lists indicate a "square" nut but not a "hex" nut.

So, if you would be so kind to check your original, unmolested 28-29 vehicles OR restored IF YOU ARE CERTAIN THAT THE NUTS REPLACED IN THAT AREA WERE THE ONES YOU TOOK OFF IN THE BEGINING, and please tell us if they are "square" or "hex" nuts.

Please, if you know for certain, tell us the aproximate month of production.

As for me:

February 1929 Tudor: Square nuts
February 1929 Special Coupe: Square nuts
September 1929 Standard Coupe: Square nuts
October 1929 CCPU Body: Square nuts

Thanks and may the "nuts" land where they may!

Pluck
