If your drums and shoes are worn you can get this issue ,pack up the slots in the top end of the shoe adjuster links with a rivet or a one inch length of 4 " nail ,bend the end to right angle , Or fit 1/4 "linnings .

Unless they have improved them a lot in the last 15 years, I was not impressed with the kit.
