I was wondering if that metal plate could be used on a 1901F to eliminate a gap due to warpage, if a suitable bowl cover couldnt be found ???
The bowl covers on 1901 Holley carbs and later teapot 2 and 4 barrel carbs are pretty thin die cast zinc and easy to make flat again. Not so on the 885F's though, which don't really warp..
I don't think the thin plate will work right on a 1901, plus it won't really cure the warped cover problem or seal. It's very easy to carefully bend the sagging corners up again. Then don't over tighten when assmbling.
