Default Re: New to The 1926 Ford Model T

Am I not remembering correctly, but did Chaffins have some rear axels made and heat treated, including some that could be ordered slightly longer?
I ordered a pair and they have been great with no problems.
I was able to obtain some original roller bearings that were well within specs and at the same time, rebuilt the entire rear end with new parts and it took a while to get the tolerances correct by thinning ever so slightly the bronze thrust washers.
Steel safety wired as well.
