The original T/O bearings had a pathway for the grease to get to the interior of the bearing but not the shaft splines for good reason. Most or all newer bearings are sealed with no pathway to the bearing. You'd only be greasing the sliding carrier for the T/O bearing and it probably is not a big issue. Too much grease there would/ could become an issue.
