Re: Idle Mixture Screw

My vacuum gauge doesn’t go to 50. I think it goes up to about 29 or 30.

Re: Phaeton top rest question

The following supplier has an extensive assortment of metal hole plugs. You can probably find one there that will work. I did not want to use metal because it will chip the paint at the edges of the...

Re: Phaeton top rest question

Re: Idle Mixture Screw

Idle mixture should be set with the engine fully warmed up and at normal low idle speed (~400-500 RPM). If you are not seeing any change with changing the mixture screw, your RPM is probably too...

Re: Fuse size

Well... "it depends".

If you are running a generator and you take your foot off the gas, step on the clutch (engine now at idle RPM), it is all coming from the battery.

Do this at night, with...

Re: radiator splashing

Yes, it had a baffle. When in place, you can't see the tubes in the top tank, they are under the baffle.

And Ford said to gently bend the overflow tub back toward the back of the filler neck. I...

Re: Distributor Cap Advance Lever Slot

It's good to see the part number, but there are no dimensions on this drawing...

Re: Distributor Cap Advance Lever Slot

Yes, that's a good point, and it will send me in search of an entirely different original Ford blueprint or two, for the breaker plate.

So, what is "the correct dimension slot"? :)

Thanks!

That picture is nice, but does anyone have an original Ford drawing with the actual dimension of the slot?

I went out and measured 3 different distributor bodies just now and got 3 different...

Re: Installing tie rods without removing backing plate?

I do not think these will fit in the tight space between the backing plate and the tie rod end screw slot. I may be wrong. I have not tried it (yet).

I am out of town right now, I will try it on...

Re: Nu Rex ignition switch

We reconnected a couple of wires where they attach to the switch and where they attach to the coil. That's about it.

You will also want to be sure your cable going into the distributor is screwed...

We have discovered...

Re: Zenith carburetor

It's a Z.

Manufactured by Zenith (H for Holly and no mark for Ford if it's a Zenith-3).

Zenith was the design holder for the carburetor, but they licensed it out to be manufactured by others to...
