the easy way to tell a custom from a fairlane is the wheelbase the fairlane is longer and it maybe hard to believe but they share very little from the firewall back
and heres a tip a 57 9"rear...

i would not dip it because the alkaline dipping solution gets in where ever air can get to (which is good in one way) but after its dipped and cleaned out there will be areas you will NEVER get any...
