Hi GB. The cam gear bolts should be fine thread. Just make sure they are the right ones. If too long they will stick out the back of the cam flange.

Just a hunch but if it were me I would take all the paint off it. If that paint breaks up or goes soft it will end up in the lubrication system.

I noticed that ford cortina about 1967 uses a 1/8 npt switch. Rockauto carry them. They have spade terminals rather than round but might represent something worth trying. One brand has a hex body...

Looks good to me. I do it the other way around. I made a piece of plate that represents the bit of block where the oil pump fits and bolt it and the pump to the oil pan. Then you can also check...

On earlier hubs and drums the drum fits over the hub. On later assemblies the drum fits on the inside of the hub. The drums are different. I think the early ones have the smaller ones and the later...

I drove my 33 coupe for the first time in nearly 3 years. All went well. I have put new brake cylinders on the front and rebuilt the rears. A new master cylinder was fitted too.

I started my 33 coupe for the first time in a few years and identified a problem with the brakes. Today I fitted a new master cylinder and I just put an order into Rockauto for new wheel cylinders...

Is there any chance the block could have been modified at some point in the past for 90% full flow external filter? If so the horizontal passageway in the oil gallery might have a grub screw in it.
