I have had problems when my car sits usually winter to spring, most of the time I clean points and then check for spark , always worked for me.

You may be running too rich by opening gav too much. Half to 3/4 for start and 1/4 to run when warm some say to close when on highway.

I always press a bit then lightly tap for vibration to release any stress has worked very well. I'f you have a helper get them to lightly tap while you press.
