Re: Nice Town car photo

Dunno if it's true but I've read the idea was the Ford would be a second car to take Mrs Millionaire shopping, on errands, etc while Mr had the Lincoln limo at the office. Poor sales led Ford to...

Re: Nice Town car photo

I'd guess the bottles are at least 5 gallons each. At 8.34 pounds per gallon, that's 41.7 pounds - probably at least 45 pounds including the bottle. I count 27 spaces for bottles - presumably there...

Re: Crime Does Not Pay.

I'm too old and fat to get down and crawl under a car to drain the oil (getting down is no problem - it's getting back up that's a bitch ). Anyway, when I was changing my own oil, I saved a...

Re: Nice Town car photo

It looks like the cars are parked on sand/dirt/gravel/mud/whatever. I don't think the tread is bald - just covered in whatever substance they're parked on. Note the under side of the TCD side-mount...

Re: New York Times Full Page Model A Article

Interesting. I normally use Firefox, which produced the result in my post #9 above - tried it with IE and got the result you describe.

Those are cool! I especially like the road runner - goes great with the Phoenix topper.

I applaud your and your wife's craftsmanship but wouldn't it have been easier to just buy a sticker or a modern replacement grill/trunk badge? Anyway, how about pin stripe tape? It's pretty...

Re: Drone fly through Classic Auto Mall

Yes, he/she does - most impressive was when the drone flew THROUGH the two huckster wagons and the depot hack. Just wish it had flown a little slower so we could see the cars better.

Re: Update - Locking Handles

No doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe an inside slide lock will bolt-on the passenger side with little or no modification. That said, do NOT do it. If the slider button is...

Re: 1930 standard coupe

You're welcome. Yes, Marco's site is offline - I think he had "real life" issues to attend to. The link I posted is the web archive that stores content of a lot of defunct sites.

Re: 1930 standard coupe

Here's a link on Marco's old site:

https://web.archive.org/web/20160908020832/http://www.abarnyard.com/workshop/roofinstall-1.htm

It's a Tudor but many of the techniques should apply to a coupe.

Re: Anyone recognize this logo?

Two considerations, also just guesses:

1. I'd think the "correct" orientation would be vertical, i.e., the spoon bowl/fork tines/whatever at either top or bottom.

2. Rather than a logo, could...

Re: Bucket Seats for Model A Street Rod

I don't have a bucket recommendation but here's something you may not have thought about - may or may not apply in your case. I had two late-30s, non-Ford coupes - same year and make. One had...

Re: Permanent Vlnyl Top

There's some top material info on Marco's old site:

https://web.archive.org/web/20130514062049/http://www.abarnyard.com/workshop/diag-1.htm

AFAIK, original materials are not reproduced.

Re: What's your favourite Model T/A era car accessory brand?

Dunno if I have a favorite brand but Fulton made a lot of accessories. I have a disability that makes it difficult to operate the starter with my foot - the pull-up starter is very helpful. The...
