I paid for this complete rebuilt 302 ford engine from five star engines and he said he would send it with a rear sump oil pan ,that with my c-4 trans and adapter plates from Bitch's Cool Stuff ,hope...

thanks for all your help, i am going to stay with c-4 trans ,my friend pulled his AOD trans out because of too many high gears for street use, i will not be traveling much on freeways

I have decited to go with a ford 302 with a c-4 trans on my 53 crestline. i will check with Butches cool stuff for kits, any info on this swap will be much appreciated

Not sure if there is a difference between a 4" stroke french crankshaft and one from a merc ,I bought mine from so-ca speed shop sacramento

i had my cam grind done at Delta camshafts in Tacoma wash., have to find my paperwork to get grind details but it was a mild grind for street use for flathead they use to say 3/4 cam, I just checked...

I went by the book to adj the lifters,had holes drilled in the housing to hold the lifter in place while adjusting and they were tight locked in place

my 53 has no vacuum wipers so i will try spraying around the intake and check for leaks

i have a rebuilt 53 ford flathead engine ,ever sense i 1st started it ,it starts right up but rough idle and vacuum gauge jumps all over from 5-12"and increase rpm from 8-15"with little pops out...

my 53 ford has an ford o matic trans., would be hard to bolt up to, thinking about a sbf with an automatic to fit like a 302cu in., anyone ever swap one of these ?

I would like to replace my flathead v8 engine on my 53 ford crestline to an easy ohv engine replacement, have heard using the y- block may have problems, any suggestions ?
